Travel Advice/Immunizations

The Vassar College Health Service offers immunizations for travel outside of the US for school sponsored trips. Your immunization requirements will be tailored to your destination, past medical history, and previous immunizations. Please note that some immunizations require multiple visits for completion, therefore planning ahead is recommended. Another consideration is that it takes about four weeks after vaccination to develop immunity. Traveling abroad is exciting, but the process can be stressful. Early preparation can help to alleviate some of that stress. We will provide you with pertinent information about the area that you are traveling to and assist with preparations for a safe and healthy trip.

We encourage you to research the Center for Disease Control website for your particular destination before making your appointment for your immunizations. Use this website ( to find your destination and travel health recommendations.
