Travel Immunizations
Vassar College Health Services offers immunizations for students and faculty traveling outside of the U.S for school sponsored trips. Your immunization requirements will be tailored according to your destination, past medical history, and previous immunizations. Please note that some immunizations require multiple visits for completion, therefore planning ahead is recommended. Another consideration is that it takes 2-4 weeks after vaccination to develop immunity. Traveling abroad is exciting, but the process can be stressful. Early preparation can help to alleviate some of that stress. We will provide you with pertinent information about the area that you are traveling to and assist with preparations for a safe and healthy trip.
The following immunizations are currently offered:
- Flu vaccine
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Polio vaccine
- Menactra (meningitis vaccine)
- MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine)
- TD (tetanus and diphtheria vaccine)
- Typhoid vaccine
- Japanese encephalitis
- Anti malarial medications are also offered
These immunizations are available by appointment at Baldwin Health Services by calling 845-437-5800 or by campus phone at x5800.
