How our billing works

Medical Clinic | Women's Health Service

Medical clinic billing

The Health Service is available to students of Vassar College regardless of their insurance.

Visits
There are no charges for visits to the medical clinic (this is covered under the mandatory health fee paid with your tuition). This includes overnight stays in the infirmary.

Over-the-counter medications and supplies
The charge will be put onto your student account.

Prescription medications
Health Service carries commonly used medications. It does not operate as a pharmacy but as a dispensary.

If you have the student health insurance offered through the college:

  • we will take care of the bill/insurance for you.

If you do not have the student health insurance offered through the college:

  • You may request a written prescription which you can have filled at a local pharmacy.
  • If we carry the medication at the health service – you may get the medication and the charge will be put onto your student account. You may request an itemized bill to submit to your insurance company.

Lab work
We utilize Quest Diagnostics for laboratory services.

If you have the student health insurance offered through the college:

  • We will take care of the bill/insurance for you.

If you do not have the student health insurance offered through the college:
